Introduction of the Essay

Abraham Lincoln once said " Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." Mr. Lincoln's quote is true, it states that people's character, self being, personality, etc will change once they get what they wanted. Once people get what they wanted they stop working for it, and change their whole mind game. Since they don't need anything no more they feel like there is nothing to loose and they change because the overwhelming greatness that comes with power effects them. You can clearly see this happening in the story Kissed by an Angel  by Elizabeth Chandler when Ivy has to have the power to control herself from the dead of Tristan, when Tristan had to make the desicion of staying with Ivy or losing her again, and when the power of thier love comes out.
